features of PM’s address

Dictatorship mostly reigned the country in the
better part of the 60 year history of the country.
Every dictator furthered the same political agenda no matter
how it damaged the country and caused misery to the people
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was the next to fight for the rights of
the people after Quad-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He is still
alive in the hearts of the people.
Later, it was Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto who took on the
responsibility of getting people their rights.
She was a hope for the poor of the country.
She lived for people and
laid down her life for them. I pay tribute to the great leader
of the people and to the party workers who offered sacrifices
for the cause of democracy.
We did not receive the
government in charity, our brothers and sisters had to render
sacrifices for the same.
For the first time defence
budget was presented before the Parliament for review.
The government made the
Parliament functional to ensure rights to the provinces.
Orders were issued to
release the detained judges.
Rs 1000 to be provided to
the poor households per month.
Benazir Cards will be issued
from August 14
Scheme of free CNICs has
already been started
Mobile Utility Stores have
been mobilised
80000 CNG busses have been
decided to be launched across the country at cost of Rs40
billion. Special incentives will be offered to the businessmen
in this regard.
Wheat support price has been
increased to Rs675 from Rs475.
2.5 million tonnes wheat is
being imported to meet the demand.
Rs20.5 billion have been
provided for the development of agriculture.
Subsidy is being provided
for fertilizers.
Sales tax is being
abolished.
Government will bear the
burden of premium for small farmers.
Government has taken a
number of steps to overcome load-shedding and the problem will
be resolved by the next year.
An authority has been formed
to tap the natural resource of coal reserves.
Particular attention is being given towards development
of alternate sources of energy
The number of lady health
workers will be increased by 20,000.
The programme for the health
of mother and children has been initiated at a cost of Rs20
billion.
A new programme has been
launched for the diagnosis of diseases.
Women’s share in the
government jobs has been doubled.
Ban has been removed on
trade unions and student organizations.
Contract employees of
Grade-1 to 15 have been regularized.
A fund has been created for
protection of journalists.
I am already working on jail
reforms.
It is our aim to provide
equal opportunities of education, health and employment to
every Pakistani citizen.
