Dogar court soon to be replaced by Chaudhry’s court, will the Supreme Court of Pakistan be ever restored?
|
| |
|
| 8 |
CJP Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar will be retiring on March 21, while the deposed chief justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iftikhar will be replacing him in accordance with the recent executive order of the prime minister of Pakistan. A vast majority of the people, except those militant chauvinists, wondering will there ever be possible the restoration of that Supreme Court, which could not be subordinated, deposed and restored on the call of an executive. If the earlier deposition was unconstitutional, undemocratic and uncivilized, the current restoration by employing the same means could not be called any better, which has perhaps thrown the superior judiciary in limbo for a foreseable future, as it could not draw that unquestionable recognition and respect from the people by and large because of their being heavily indebted and obliged to a few sections of the people and raising reasonable doubts in the minds of masses for their consciously/unconsciously natural partisanship to their benefactors.
Have we ever thought what precedents we are setting for the future? Does it not follow from these hullabaloo that any community/political party/ a few political parties, who could muster two/three lacs of militants ready to do and die for any of their causes could get through by marching on to Islamabad and bring the executive authorities to their knees passing orders on the spur of the moment ignoring the parliament and shaming the democracy and democratic ways? Will it not encourage any future Bonaparte to sack the judiciary at will, buy time for fulfilling his designs and later when the pressure builds up, restore it by dramatic pronouncement?
Once politicized, it makes you controversial, all eyes remain focused on you, you are being closely watched, all of your actions are critically analyzed and assessed, while the adversaries leave no opportunity of hurling blames true/untrue. Besides, old habit die-hard. The celebrations that followed the restoration within the High Courts of Punjab and Sindh gave no better a picture of a political rally, where the black-coats staged ‘Bhangra’ to the amusement of the participating restored judges, who profusely garlanded took a round of the premises and obliged all those who wanted to shake hand or hug them, relieving some of their burden of obligations.
The mastermind of this melodrama, Aitzaz Ahsan, giving the perception of having captured the Supreme Court, has already started hurling threats at his rival advocates not to dare come filing any petition, declaring the Supreme Court premises for them a ‘no go’ area, which tantamount to saying that no such case/cases, which Aitzaz would not approve could be heard in the court. Perhaps, Aitzaz would also ensure that no SC roasters or constitution of benches take place without his consent, making the court a showpiece serving the cause of the SC Bar—a subservient organization of ML-N.
What transpires from the happenings of last few days has led the people to conclude that the SC today seems to be more political than judicial, as the sponsors kept rattling all these days for taking up on priority the cases of additional marks of Dogar’s daughter, the appointments of new superior court judges, deciding the fate of the sitting PCO judges etc., which is a sufficient indication that epicenter of politics has now shifted to the courts. The courts are likely to be turned into a political arena, where the politicians through their elements very much within the courts would settle their scores with their adversaries, making a mockery of justice and fair play. The government and the entire legal system during the last 72 hours since restoration of judges burnt midnight oil for filing the revision petitions relating to the electoral disqualifications of Sharif brothers and the matter is being so rushed up that a judgment on the revision petitions could be obtained at the very moment of CJ Iftikhar resumes his office, to be sure in favour. Aitzaz and the likes have made the judiciary highly politicized, doubtful and partial brazenly leaning towards a handful of people out to exploit it for their ulterior motives.
Meanwhile, the people would have to wait for an opportune time to wage a real struggle for freeing the judiciary from the clutches of spin masters, conspirators, schemers and imposters.

When PML-N and PPP came into power, people of Pakistan had some relief that now situation will change. But both parties fooled once again to people of Pakistan. Similarly, Ch. Iftekhar is not an angle, for his own sake he gave Musharraf absolute power. People should not forget that for his own job, he put the country at stake. We know his past that he misused his office for personal and family gains.
Let us give him benefit of doubt that he may give up revenge tactic and look ahead for the country. There is big IF that Ch. Iftekhar deals justly and without any prejudice, perhaps we may be at the right track. If Ch Iftekhar chooses to go for accountability for his opponents, then he should put himself first and later rest of the people. For the sake of country, we should look forward and begin a system, where corruption is eliminated and justice is available to every citizen of Pakistan.

If the fate of this nation would be shaped at TV Talk Shows and on the streets then - good luck fellow Pakistanis. The decision taken, without the consent of the parliament and the cabinet, is absolutely wrong and must be challenged and dealt accordingly. It is high time that Ch. Iftikhar must resign.

Who are responsible for the recent heroic long march and of the years long struggle braved by the media, the nation including the civil rights supporters and on the top of all the heroic struggle continued by the lawyers of Pakistan under the Leadership of Aitzaz who would have become minister or prime minister for quitting his support to the movement of the restoration of free judiciary, but the lawyers, the media and the nation continued their struggle even at the cost of blood, precious lives, brutal victimization, torture and their imprisonment.
There is no written punishment except the punishment of God hereafter, which could suffice for those who deposed so many judges of Supreme and High Courts, treated them like third degree criminals, confined them and even their innocent children and their elders and parents denying them access to the mosques even for Friday prayers, tortured the honorable judges for not allowing them to prolong their rule of terror, plunder and selling the nation. There is no punishment to suffice except the punishment of God for those who through their verbal and written agreements, public and press announcements had given solemn pledges to the long anguished nation to reinstate the deposed Judges and as such restore the free judiciary at first priority, but when the nation brought them to power, because of their own criminal apprehensions they kept on betraying their solemn pledges and started playing with the burning sentiments of the long anguished nation.
Calling the great heroes as militants, spin masters, mastermind of melodrama and their heroic struggle against the gruesome dictators, traitors and sellers a "hallabalo" is like speaking the minds and words of those who are responsible for the plights and sufferings of the nation as such.

Our leaders represent who we are. Like it or not, Zardari represents each one of us in Pakistan. Not only he has not delivered on one single thing since he came into power, he has lost all credibility as a leader and a president. He changes his statements frequently. He is on record saying things that he will do, once he is in power, yet he has not done any of them. He is simply not in touch with the pulse of the country. It is time that we ask our selves a simple question. Do we want someone like him to represent us? Answer would be a loud NO. He must be removed from the office and let the good in PPP do their job.

Supreme Court of Pakistan is changing hands from Jutts to Arian. Arains of Pakistan can do better justice since they have more commonsense, but that is not the answer for Pakistan's trouble. More common sense is needed for the country, then just comparing Jutts to Arains.

Diamond cuts diamond. In the dynamics of cause and effect, form is irrelevant and consequently, what is central to the crux of the matter is the substance, the core. The flippant, frivolous and flagrant act of the despicable dictator to suspend the Constitution in the first place and then trampling the judiciary to pre-empt the imminent defeat that stared him in the face, is the unforgivable treason of madcap Mush, for which his accountability is his destiny. Mush had flouted every legal and constitutional norms and rules to disrupt and disband a SC of pre Nov 03,'07 that had earned respect and admiration among the public, for their incisive actions in collaring the privileged executive and censuring the acts of the holy cow Agencies, who were indulging into unprecedented excesses. The Agencies voracious flesh trade of their countrymen on bogus security ploys and populating the notorious Gitmo was challenged by a dauntless SC headed by CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry. Self-preservation and self-promotion was the stark basis that triggered the imposition of Emergency. The panel of SC Judges had already decided that the Declaration of Emergency was infractuous and the chaos that culminated was designed to prop up the sagging and crumbling Establishment of Mush, but for how long? Finally Mush caved in when the combined pressure of PML (N) and PPP forced him out. This backdrop is essential to appreciate why an executive order was apt to restore the panel of Judges, who were disposed peremptorily by another executive order of a demented dictator. A made-over and mock SC headed by a scheming and sinister Dogar had no validity - except the impetuous law of necessity. It was the correct stance of the newly elected PM (YRG) to have ordered the release of those judges who were humbled and slapped with imprisonment within their homes. But it ran short of re-instating them and the question why would unfold the chronic and pathological hypocrisy and humbug of PPP.
If the kangaroo courts disqualify Sharifs by subterfuge upon the subtle behest of the powers-to-be, the PPP stalwarts and those of their Mafia chums recommend honoring the judgment - however bizarre or berserk. But when courts punish those party leaders, they protest vehemently dubbing the decisions as coerced or cultivated. What convoluted logic!! The restoration of pre-Nov 03,07 SC headed by CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry has predominant validity of law, energized and enforced by a huge majority of the people of Pakistan. The successful Long March has established its pre-eminence that the people of Pakistan trust its judicial future in the safe hands of CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry. The enunciations of YRG have been formally approved and endorsed by the Presidency and even the Presidential order maintains that no fresh oath is necessary, as the new SC would be deemed as the continuation of the SC that existed before treasonable imposition of Emergency. The pseudo-CJ Dogar would go down in the history along with Munir, Qayyum, Pirzada and their ilk, who are trashed and thrown into the dustbin of history as worthless waste. Any presumed or perceived notions about the authenticity of the SC under CJ Iftikhar rest on unfounded apprehensions and assumed aberrations.

I think never because Pakistani elites are ganged up against poor and hapless public. They will do everything in their power to block any meaningful reform in the judiciary to preserve their unearned privileges. Now the public should mount an effective and collective response against these masquerading saviours and boot them out of public life. If not they are going to attack like vultures. Look at the shameless brazen characters now claiming credit for restoration. I thank Naeem Bukahri, S. Pirzada, Malik Q, Latif Kh, Baber Awan and the scores of unpleasant characters like them for granting us the opportunity to nullify their evil designs.

Venomous and malicious, Czar Zardari being defeated by the overwhelming power of people of all Pakistanis is now swallowing his own words, reeling and twisting to vengeance this historical defeat from ML-N and Sharif brothers. But people of Pakistan are now awakened and they will overturn any such action of this poisonous scorpion, whose teeth may be very sharp, but the huge hands of people of Pakistan are much more powerful that may reach to his neck anytime, in shape of an other long march, which might be as powerful as the Khomeni like revolution, which may sweep away not only Czar Zaradris, but all his bed bugs along with louses of his head.

Dogar has been replaced, Ch will be reinstated, but the Supreme Court will remain as Supreme Court for politicians, corrupt people, bureaucrats, Generals and for all those who have long hands. Ch Iftikhar has passed almost 2 years in isolation and in miserable condition and he has learned and observed justice very wisely and sympathetically. I am sure CJP Mr. Iftikhar Ch will begin the history of Supreme Court with new hard orders against corrupt politicians. As long as corrupt politicians exist in this society, there is no chance for peace in this country. The present politicians have made all these courts as their belongings. They can do whatever they wish to do, so now the Supreme Court must realize them that the time has changed and they can be put behind the bar for the rest of their lives. This task can be done either by the Armed forces who has power or the new Supreme Court of Pakistan backed by the law. It is the law of Supreme Court that can make each and every one perfect. It was USA Court who even called the President of USA in the court against his crime, so why not the President of Pakistan can be charged and called in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
As a Pakistani, I appeal to the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take severe actions against all those prominent politicians who are sitting in the Govt. breaking laws every moment, everyday and in spite of that they are very relaxing and enjoying their lives, whereas the poor is running after food, water, employment, electricity, medical, and justice. The Supreme Court of Pakistan must provide justice at the door of victims, but in Pakistan there is a little hope for this miracle.

The country is being ruined under NRO meaning thereby that the whole system is based on compromise... in a country where theory of necessity, NRO, PCO and LFOs are the order of the day, how can you expect a principle stand from any one? How can the institutions become strong? Every one knows the impending decision on Sharif Bros case. Is this the restoration of judiciary.... it is instead restoration of judges.

Both courts are most respectful. Our problem is rusted establishment, corrupt judiciary, police, bureaucracy and politics. We don't feel ashamed breaking law because enforcement is so weak, lazy and unprofessional have no ethics. Revolution is needed to take over otherwise it will turn a lull in noisy, unruly crowd - no matter who takes office. Breaking news take-over (activism) would not change fate of nation, but drive to another unrest and failed economy. Stage would set with clever, resourceful and organized criminals, nonprofessional police and respected courts- balances, retrievals, charge to actual would remain just hope.

Supreme Court of Pakistan must understand their prime duty as to how to handle country's judicial system without the interference of any government or political party or their leadership. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry reinstated on his job as Chief Justice of Pakistan, I wish him good luck and urge him, just do his job without any fear of any kind and Allah's help is on his side. If our justice system is free of any kind of governmental interventions, I can assure, the high time corruption in our country will soon end and a true justice will be given to right person and wrong person will be punished of his/her crime in jail. Our religion 'Islam' is also teaches us a fair trial of all kind according to Quran teaching.

Musharraf and his coteries are responsible for all the political, judicial and financial plunders and sufferings of the nation during his darkest rule and for all the uncertainty and plight after his departure. Zardari is byproduct of sinful orchestration of Musharraf who taking Pakistan as his personal estate amended the constitution to clear the top looters and corrupts including Zardari, knowing that these beneficiaries charged for bungling billions of national money will remain under moral obligation and as such protect him forever. Now crossing all the legal authority the ruthless dictator forgiving all these top thugs for his personal gains, in the eyes of true justice and historians will remain responsible for the despoil and default of all those billions of national money himself.
People of Pakistan, from all the four provinces and every nook and corner of the country, being fed up of the corrupt politicians had welcomed Musharraf with such an overwhelming support never extended to any military ruler before. Also because they did not like the mishandling of supreme judiciary and Musharraf's dismissal, in his absence, by the Nawaz Sharif Govt. I myself used to listen to the radio talk shows in Pakistan, Europe and America, the great majority of the callers, Punjabis, Sindhis, Baluchis, Pathhans, Mohajirs, Sunnis, Shias and the non-Muslim Pakistanis would equally defend Musharraf with overwhelming emotions of support and trust. If in stead of taking a short cut ride on the shoulders of head to toe corrupts and terrorists he would rule with honest and clean background people with equal justice and true reforms for all, this man had the golden chance to become the most popular ruler and leader of the nation for decades, as the nation themselves were looking for a true reformer since long.
But seemingly the worst ungrateful soul on the earth planet, for the convenience of perpetuating his rule, he criminally betrayed the so welcoming and supporting nation to the extent that the entire nation, except his beneficiaries turned against him for his betrayal of trust, for his rule of terror and oppression, for depriving the non-privileged majority from water, food and electricity leaving them on the mercy of his corrupt cronies, for strangulating the free judiciary as such the true democracy and civil rights of the citizens, for selling out the nation, for breaking the backbone of the defenders of Pakistan's frontiers since its inception who had nothing to do with terrorism. To earn short cut global popularity and dollars he fooled the Americans and his nation simultaneously. By his indiscriminate bombardments over the great majority of innocent and peaceful people who themselves were against Al-Qaeda, Taliban and all the foreign intruders, extremists and extremists dumped over their heads by the then Zia Govt. to fight USSR. By his continued blood bathing, devastating, uprooting even these innocent hard-working, simple living people forcing them to war of resistance and survival, as logical reaction, the dictator multiplied the extremism and terrorism like mushroom. As such turning the nation as most vulnerable hostage of terrorism from northern border areas to Karachi.
I very humbly have to say to my beloved people of Pakistan, that, USA's grievances against Pakistan are genuine to great extent because of so many terrorists attacks and ambush in Pakistan have killed so many innocent citizens and diplomats of USA who were only helping the Pakistani people. Then came the 9/11 and many of the terrorists either had indirect link with Pakistan or were caught from their safe havens some where in Pakistan. If Musharraf instead of taking short cut ride on the shoulders of already head to toe corrupt or incompetent advisers and confidants would ally with clean and honest team members he could have taken into confidence USA leadership, the nation and the people of northern borders to fight against the extremists and terrorists to root them out totally, because the overwhelming majority of those region were deadly against the terrorists themselves. They were the people who fought against USSR by their ideological beliefs they would always support Europe and America against communists. Also they would never like the extremists and terrorists to devastate the peace of their land and generations. But because of the wrong strategy and arrogant approach from the beginning instead of rooting out the terrorism from the border area today the whole country has been made most vulnerable targets for the terrorists from north to south, east to west, and the terrorists could attack any place any time, as per their sweet will?
But the dictator wasted most of the resources and energy fighting against free judiciary and for the perpetuation of his ruthless rule finally leaving the nation in the crisis of water, food, electricity and more especially for the non-privileged majority almost impossible to survive with two times simple meal.

Every one in Pakistan has objection either on politicians or on armed forces. When there is democratic government, people use to call them corrupted politician and when there is government backed by army, they used to call them dictator. Most of the people from Pakistan even do not know what are their aims and destination. Now CJP came under fire, simply for nothing.

I hate that some call Chief Justice Hameed Dogar’s a Kangaroo court. I had said this before that our politicians are not public servants and they keep their interest, fame and fortune above everything else, even the security of the country. I have said it before that Nawaz Sharif is not an angle. He wanted to be dictator. Therefore, he got rid of Chief Justice Sajjad with all the means available to him. Recently, he insulted the judiciary and now he is ineligible for election and holding a high public office.
I hope the new judiciary will not pardon him and become party to injustice. There is something else in the air that Zardari now wants to become the Prime Minister and fire the current Prime Minster Mr. Gailani. That is why I call that a crook is always a crook. I am hopeful that the politicians, if they want fame and respect, they will have to keep the interests of Pakistan and its people in front. I have seen that we have lot of intellectuals and, there fore I still have a good hope for Pakistan.

One can take a sigh of relief at the ‘timely’ demise of an illegal, pliant, divisive, nepotism-laced, Musharraf-endowed Zardari pet Dogar court. The Supreme Court that Mr. Dogar headed was not an impartial independent Supreme Court it was a graciously obliging politician pleasing very dependent Supreme Court. It is good to see that Justice Dogar was not removed unceremoniously – despite his unconstitutionality and despite the fact that he allowed himself to be used -- by a bunch of self-serving unscrupulous desi- Rasputins of Czardari’s darbar -- as more like a darbari chief justice -- in cahoots with a small time dullard darbari lawyer called Naek – than the head of an independent rule of law judiciary of an independent rule of law Pakistan. Mr. Dogar left rather ‘graciously’ that honor -- to go to the real Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Iftikhar M. Chaudhry -- in deference to Chaudhry’s 2 years struggle for judicial independence -- for which we would like to thank Mr. Dogar – but will not -- because Mr. Dogar delayed the establishment of the rule of law by 2 years in an increasingly anarchist Pakistan – destabilizing an already militant-destabilized Pakistan – for small favors from the politicians -- like his daughter’s admission to the medical school -- or for a phony disqualification of the Sharif brothers without thinking -- what it will do to the precarious stability of a crisis after crisis ridden hapless country.
The rock like steadiness of the Chief Justice Iftikhar Caudhry -- not to bend and bow before the seedy sordid demands of a demented deceiving dictatorship and its later day bazaari hanger-on’s – against the rule of a whimsical dictator's no law Pakistan -- despite the harrowing hardships and haranguing harassments of almost 2 years – that did bring the wrath of the lawyers and the common man alike upon the dictator -- in favor of a decent honest rule of law Pakistan – that ultimately ended with Mr. Zardari eating the crows in public in the early wee hours of March 16th 2009 -- before the incredulous but relieved audience of the entire world.
What Mr. Zardari did not realize – that if CJ Chaudhry’s removal spelled the doom and gloom of an entrenched one-man army dictatorship, backed by a 600,000 strong professional army – it will definitely doom the one man civilian dictatorship of a semi literate Musahrraf-wannabe as well – especially if the civil president was either unable or unwilling to read the writing on the wall – unable or unwilling to learn, remember and draw proper conclusions from what happened to a very ‘clever’ – very powerful head of a mighty army predecessor -- that will also happen to a “chay piddi aur chay piddi kay shorbay” civilian accidental presidency -- despite its lifetime of wheeling dealing in street ‘cleverness’.
A sordid chapter of deceit and sheer opportunism may have ended with the restoration of CJ Chaudhry -- but to expect that the restoration of CJ will bring peace and prosperity in Pakistan is naivety – it will bring neither -- nor it will bring the rule of law -- in a country of maddening lawlessness -- where the ‘doctrine of necessity’ is repeatedly invoked -- called to break ‘lawfully’ the Law itself – where the country’s Constitution mostly spends its time in forced sleepy ‘abeyance’ -- where the suicide bombing is the acceptable norm – and drone bombing an unacceptable anomaly -- where the teachers of religion teach the teenagers how to slit throats and personally demonstrate the noble art of halal beheading. Where the desecrators of the dead -- the killers and the rapists of women and children – destroyers of little girls schools -- the murderers of law and order personnel – are assigned officially -- to administer ‘justice’ and ‘rule of law’ – over the terror-stricken very relatives of the raped, killed, and desecrated victims. Where – the elected, stable functioning provincial governments are uprooted overnight for the benefit of an unelected erratic boorish hatchet boy to browbeat the opposition in the most shameless clumsiest manner of horse-trading -- to toe the governing party line. Now in such an unruly land of social, political, military, economic, moral and religious anarchy -- to expect one man CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry to bring the rule of law is like asking Mother Teresa to turn the entire span of Hira Mandi into a hymn singing nun’s monastery overnight. CJ Chaudhry can bring rule of law to an unruly country like Pakistan – only and only -- when its President, its PM, its Legislature, its police, its army, its politicians its clergy its schools and its madrassas are prepared and willing to abide by each and every tenets of the rule of law doctrine -- where nobody not even the president is allowed to be above the law -- as practiced in most of the civilized democratic secular countries of the world.

Until such time that the judiciary rise above self-worship and the courts and the laws are free from political interference and influence, how can a judiciary and the courts ever be perceived to be free. The courts are supposed to dispense justice to the people, yet they are used as pawns in the struggle to maintain power by politicians, the judges and the head of the state Zadari is the master of manipulation of the corrupt legal system closely followed by all the other influential, who have side stepped legal and moral accountability every one knows who they are.
One final point implementation of Shariat law and the establishment of Shariat courts, who would interpret Shariat, there is no agreed interpretation and the example is the mullahs in Swat, these are part of the group who for instance want some sects declared non-Muslims although they are the true followers of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Imam Ali, who after the Prophet was the most knowledgeable on matters of Shariat.

People taking these days of revolution, why not people talk of real revolution. Pakistan neither needs Nawaz Sharif, nor Asif Zardari. Peoples Party and Muslim League have proved time and again they can't run the country their past is tainted? We should have some one new like Imran Khan or somebody well educated, honest and loyal to Pakistan. Pakistan needs somebody who can run this country, solve problems, like people run successful corporations. They identify problems and try to solve them. They do so by getting a strong and knowledgeable team. Like US President Obama, has done, his all team members are competent and honest. If the prevailing political conditions are not changed soon, there is great danger of a failed state, facing another threat of weak economy and terrorist getting strong hold. All this will lead to what? It is a big question.

All is well syndrome still prevailing in the land of "pure", our beloved country Pakistan. After two long years and a year after present govt.'s induction, finally the judiciary has been restored. But the question is why it took them that long? Why the present elected govt. took so long? Moreover, the way an elected govt. was dislodged in Punjab and over nightly the governor rule imposed, only strengthens the belief that true democracy has not returned in the country--rather the same old feudal system has once again brought those so-called legislators to the parliament, who have been part of all these governments that have ruled this country---with or without the military rule. No one seems bothered about the terrorism and the ill-conceived agreements between the frontier govt. and the TNSM in Swat. More so, the militants have started shifting their theatre to upper and lower Dir. More and more militants have been released and no one is being held accountable by the govt. of NWFP and the federal govt. to answer for the crimes committed in the name of shariat in the whole of NWFP—particularly in Swat. Was it all about the implementation of Nizam-e-Adl? Now the nation will soon hear the "good" news that mullahs have started "struggling" for implementation of shariah in Dir districts as well. What a pity. We are indeed a shameless, indifferent and indiscipline nation that is heaven for all sorts of mafias, our open borders with Iran (this week the Iranian ambassador complained about Pakistani territory being used against his country), with Afghanistan---renowned the world over for all sorts of illicit trade, drugs, cars, electronics--what not.

Political parties and their hired workers are all making fools of the innocents of Pakistan. They restored the judges of their choices only to get maximum benefits. Don't talk about judiciary where a black coat man proves culprit innocent and innocent is proved culprit. The whole system is corrupt, which is the inheritance of western masters ruled over India.
On the other hand shariat judiciary, which is running parallel is again the inheritance from the kings and nawabs and those treacherous persons, who in the dress of religion fooled people and endorsed all the kings and nawabs wanted to enhance their rule. Unless and until the shariat, which is preserved through Ahlulbayt (a.s.) the holy family of Holy Prophet (saww) is not studied and implemented, whole judiciary will remain lame and blind forever. The prevalent judiciary is the inheritance of kings and tyrant rulers.

Chief Justice restored, well and good, but now there is tremendous burden on the courts of Pakistan because the way the justice restored was full of threat. The political leader who led demonstration is under trail and having expectations that the chief will remove all his cases and moreover he will take action against the government, especially against the president. CJ has been reinstated thanks to the lawyers’ movement and the dedication of the people of Pakistan. It is a morale boosting victory for the ordinary citizens of this country. Once more they have realized that if they are really focused then change can be brought by peaceful means rather than resort to terrorism and suicide bombings. It is a great achievement for the nation as a whole. I hope that there are some lessons here for all sides including the power hungry politicians and the terrorists. Here is an example of how pressure can be brought about on the authorities so that they listen to reason. We must not forget the very important and vital roll of the media because without them this movement may not have had the desired impact.
However, we have now got to wait and see how the CJ's authority is implemented. Will he be allowed to operate freely? Or is the present government going to tie his hands behind his back? This present set of PPP elite in power have a bad track record and all in all expectations are low because they have once again started on a mission of new promises. Everything about these guys is very slimy and crafty. One can see them on TV chat shows trying to manipulate words and patting themselves on the back, as if the restoration of CJ is their achievement.
They do not appear to be sorry or have learned anything. How arrogant can you be? PPP needs to take account of their outlook and actions otherwise they are going to be history. And the other political parties should take heed and keep their distance from PPP because when PPP ship sinks everyone on board will go down with them. PML [N] leadership should take heed because deep down PPP leadership is not sincere and most of them are here for self-glorification. Besides they consider Pakistan as their personal Jagir and are already nominating heirs to take over the ‘hakumat’. How undemocratic can you get? I feel that people still have a long struggle ahead and this is the first step towards the freedom and justice this great nation deserves. I also hope that this CJ and future CJ's will have the courage to help this nation towards achieving true democracy and prevent these autocratic leaders from messing up our constitution. Long live Pakistan and long live people power.

A mysterious hectic activity could be seen at the Model Town and Jati Umra, where the black coat leaders made a beeline congratulating Sharif brothers for their victory that they believe has paved the way for their finally taking over the governments at the federation as well as in the provinces by staging a judicial coup in a matter of days or weeks.
The militant black coats were heard rejoicing on President Asif Ali Zardari and the Army Chief, Ashfaque Pervaiz Kayani leaving on foreign tours on the historic day, when judiciary was freed, which they are viewing as steering clear the way for a smooth take over of the country by Sharif brothers.
