* Karachi Play ground for all the evil doers |
 |
| |
Once this city of lights used to bring real light to the lives of the people and like any other cosmopolitan city, this city of Quaid had its own beauty, where the people from different cultures, cast and creed used to live side by side, sharing each others’ laughter and sorrows.
People of Karachi were very open hearted and welcoming, but for the last 20 years this city is being used by all the evil doers, such as, drug traffickers, arms merchants and mercenaries to carry out ghastly attacks on mosques and processions. These people have no religion, no nationality and no fear of the wrath of the Almighty. Anyone can hire their services on meager payments, while their brains are totally washed and killing is a minor offence for them. Some of them even have ‘fatwas’ that they would go to heaven. Karachi is a playground for all but Karachiites. They use it for their ulterior motives and run back to the place from where they came, leaving bad impression on the international investors, tourists and visitors.
I wonder by giving bad name to this city of Quaid, who would be getting benefit out of this, of course, enemies of this city. I wish we can bring back the charm, glamour and high spirit of Karachi back for that we all have to work hard day and night, keep an eye on subversive elements and form a network of information and action to cope up with situations pre-emptive. May Allah help us to restore brotherhood, which we had before and the evildoers will die their own death!

* Psycho-Analysis of Pervez Musharraf - Rejoinder by Ali Raza, UK |
 |
| |
Ali Raza's rejoinder to the writer on the subject is an eerie exercise in extrapolation. Just like the present setup, where the superman luxuriates into the supra constitutional authority to issue ordinances and policy statements without regard to the National Assembly or the Senate, this has been the vogue of all dictators in the past. ZAB had emerged as the leader of largest party in the Western wing, second only to the Awami League in the Eastern wing, on overall basis. ZAB had no political or administrative powers to sway the despotic will of Yahya Khan.
Indeed, ZAB was vociferous in mouthing some cynical slogans bordering on sedition. But it was Yahya who called shots. It is funny that Mr. Raza considers those sham elections as honest hustings. Going by his logic, Zia extracted his mandate from 98% votes in the referendum, as also Musharraf derives his legality from the 90% votes he got in the referendum. Media and public opinion mock at those claims with the contempt it deserves.
The trouble with one-man rule is that the megalomaniacs arrogate themselves with divine rights that cannot be challenged by mortal human beings. The law of necessity gives them crutches to stand on and the scourge of sycophants gives them the spirit of substance. The blatant attempt to mystify history renders the man a laughing stock.

* Centenary of Pakistan Muslim League - A TABLEAU |
 |
| |
PTV and other electronic media vied in their competitive upmanship to headline the event together with impressive photo sessions. The tableau reminded one of the puppet shows, where the array of stars are lined up for a final bow to the cheers of the crowd.
All alphabets of PML, except N, were present in their resplendent best. The party that achieved Pakistan under the dynamic, dedicated and disciplined leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, passed a resolution for the prolongation of military dictator as the COAS-cum-President. Why not promote him Field Marshall - at this rank the incumbent never retires. They fade. Quaid's soul must be turning in his grave and grumbling "I knew there were some counterfeit coins in my pocket. I never imagined, they would multiply."

* Smoking |
 |
| |
I do not know why police does not react against smokers, when they violate at public places, even sometimes in public vehicles, the smokers have very strange attitude and even threaten those who request for not smoking. Last time, I was traveling to Lahore with my kids and I was unable to stop people who were smoking even in non-smoking vans, as I have to cut a sorry figure in front of my kids to whom I always taught that it is poisonous.
Would anybody heed to my request that such people should be accounted for and police do have their moral duty (though police itself is a biggest violator because majority of policemen are smokers). Who then will finally take up this case for smoking-free environment?
